Participation in the seminars is free of charge for scientists, university staff, and students throughout Germany. Please register using your university email address.

The project is funded by the GO-Bio initial program of the BMFTR.

Target audience

This project is suitable for master's students, doctoral candidates, postdoctoral researchers, and all academic staff in the life and natural sciences, medicine, and related fields who want to further develop their applicable ideas or inventions, ideally to the point of commercialization.

Speakers

Dr Kaal, Deputy Head of the “System Dynamics” Department, has been conducting research for over 18 years at the Fraunhofer Institute for Structural Durability and System Reliability LBF in Darmstadt. As part of the “ProFi” project, a flexible, multistable finger prosthesis made from a single intelligent material component was developed in collaboration between Fraunhofer LBF, IWM, ITWM and IA.

Dr Baumann has been working as a researcher in the Health and Technologisation of Life division at KIT’s ITAS since 2017. Her work focuses on the ethical and social aspects of biotechnology and medical technology, and she has extensive experience gained from a wide range of projects at the interface between humans and technology.
